I've bought high-purity helium. But I also need to pay attention to its transportation and storage!
Helium High purity helium
High-purity helium should be classified and stacked during transportation, storage, and use. It is not allowed to be close to open flames and heat sources. It should be kept away from fire, oil, wax, direct sunlight, heavy throwing, and impact. It is strictly prohibited to perform arc striking or electric arc on the cylinder body, and rough handling is strictly forbidden. When moving high-purity helium cylinders over short distances, special trolleys for cylinders should be used, and for long-distance movement, dangerous goods transport vehicles should be used. The temperature of liquid helium is -268.9℃, which can cause severe frostbite when in contact with the skin.

Gas cylinders filled with high-purity helium must not be brought near sources of ignition, nor exposed to direct sunlight. They should generally be kept at least 10 meters away from open flames, and must not be collided. The cylinder body must be strictly free from any grease contamination. The inflation pressure of the cylinder must not exceed the specified pressure. Safety caps must be fitted at all times to protect the gas valve. Gas cylinders should be inspected every three years (excluding special circumstances) for external examination and hydrostatic testing. Only after passing the test can the cylinder be put back into use. The inspection should be conducted at the inflation unit.
High-purity helium is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-flammable gas stored in high-pressure cylinders. When its content increases and the oxygen content drops below 19.5%, it may cause suffocation. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be equipped. The gas product is filled with high-pressure gas and should be depressurized before use. The packaged cylinders all have a service life, and expired cylinders must be sent to a department for safety inspection before they can be used again. When each cylinder is used to the end, the residual pressure inside should be maintained at 0.5 MPa, with a minimum of not less than 0.25 MPa. The cylinder valve should be closed to ensure gas quality and safe use. High-purity helium should be stored and transported in a classified manner. It is strictly prohibited to store flammable gases and combustion-supporting gases together. It should be stored upright in a well-ventilated, safe, and weather-resistant location. The storage temperature should not exceed 42°C, and there should be no flammable materials in the storage area, away from frequently traveled areas and emergency exits. There should be no salt or other corrosive materials present. For unused cylinders, the protective valve cover and output valve should be kept sealed and intact. Empty cylinders should be stored separately from full cylinders. Avoid excessive storage and long storage periods.
