NO2 and NO can be converted to each other. Does NO or NO2 standard gas have any impact?

NO2 and NO can be converted to each other. Does NO or NO2 standard gas have any impact?

According to the reaction equation 2NO+O2=2NO2, in the presence of oxygen, NO will react to become NO2. Therefore, when preparing NO standard gas, oxygen should be minimized as much as possible, so N2 needs to be used as an equilibrium gas. Moreover, the higher the purity of nitrogen, the less oxygen impurities can be guaranteed. When preparing NO2 standard gas, a large amount of oxygen is required, so it is recommended to use air as the equilibrium gas. Only when there is sufficient oxygen, NO2 will not react with NO. It should be noted that since the reaction equation is a reversible reaction, NO2 must exist in NO. But the standard gas for liquid air preparation uses 99.9999% nitrogen as the equilibrium gas, which can ensure that the NO2 content is controlled within 5% of the NO content. If the customer's application requirements are higher, a higher purity equilibrium gas can also be used in the liquid air to lower the NO2 content.
