    Precautions for high-purity helium gas

    Helium, high-purity helium

What should be noted when using, transporting, and storing high-purity helium gas?

Buy high-purity helium and find Wuhan Yisi Tuopu Technology Co., Ltd. Click on the online inquiry or call our hotline at+86 189 8614 9031.

    1. The pressure is usually 15MPa. When using high-purity helium gas, YQY-12 or 152IN-125 pressure reducers should be used to reduce the pressure before use. Before using high-purity helium gas, soap water should be used to leak the gas pipeline to ensure that it does not leak.

    2. Ensure that high-purity helium gas does not leak and maintain ventilation in the workplace. When the content of high-purity helium gas increases and the oxygen content drops below 19.5%, patients first experience accelerated breathing, lack of concentration, and ataxia; Subsequently, fatigue, weakness, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, coma, convulsions, and death occurred.

    3. When using high-purity helium gas in each bottle, the residual pressure inside the bottle should be kept at 0.5 MPa, and the minimum residual pressure should not be lower than 0.25 MPa. The bottle valve should be closed to ensure gas quality and safe use.

    4. Bottled high-purity helium gas should be classified and stacked during transportation, storage, and use. It is not allowed to be close to open flames and heat sources. It should be kept away from fire, oil and wax, direct sunlight, heavy throwing, and impact. It is strictly prohibited to ignite or arc on the cylinder body, and rough loading and unloading are strictly prohibited. Short distance mobile high-purity helium gas cylinders should be transported using cylinder specific handcarts, and long-distance mobile cylinders should be transported using dangerous goods transport vehicles. The temperature of liquid helium is 4.25K, which can cause severe frostbite when in contact with the skin.

    5. The use and inspection of steel cylinders storing high-purity helium gas shall comply with the provisions of the "Gas Cylinder Safety Supervision Regulations" of the State Administration for Quality and Technical Supervision, and the inflation pressure of the gas cylinder shall not exceed the prescribed pressure. The safety helmet should be installed at all times to protect the air valve. The gas cylinder should be inspected every three years (except in special circumstances) for appearance inspection and water pressure test. Only after passing the test can it continue to be used. The inspection should be carried out at the inflation unit.
